Last April 2014, in Wilhelmshaven, Heinz Trochelmann very kindly donated to our Foundation a bunch of 180 A-5 sized data sheets. Its content is herewith being made accessible on the web.

It might be of some help to those looking for a link between old R&S (PTE) apparatus designations and related B.N numbers. My guess; B.N. stood for Beschaffungsnummer or that like (stock number). For others may be the price of wartime apparatus of interest. I must confess, that your webmaster belongs more to the latter group.

We may also consider, that the succession of B.N. numbers, might possess a relation to the the succession of its conception (time-line). About nowadays practice I have no meaning, but I would not wonder, when this is still true.  

It is also found, that some products not being listed. My guess, these were typical wartime, thus customer, products. Such as, for example, the wave-meter type WIQ.

The 1949 list covers mainly apparatus that originate from the design period of 1945 - 1949, though, also some of the wartime days and even beyond. 

You will find brief specifications and apparatus descriptions. Curious, in my perception, is that on top of the pages they still use the designation PTE.
